Snow Day in Houston

Yes... Houston did get snow! We couldn't believe it and really enjoyed watching it come down. LJ of course loved seeing it snow and Jonah was fascinated as well!

Happy Birthday Jonah

One year ago today little Jonah Frederick decided to finally make an appearance into the world. (We go next week for his one year check and will keep you posted about his stats.) So far he LOVES to do anything his older brother is doing. As soon as he wakes up in the morning he wants to crawl immediately to Lucas' room to play! What ever toys Lucas has, of course, Jonah wants. (So much for the one year old toys.) We are into everything and especially love looking through all the books and DVDs on the shelf. (I think mom is getting a pretty strong back from bending down and picking up those books and DVDs at least five times a day!) We are so very blessed to have such a wonderful and cute little boy!

Happy Birthday little Jonah Frederick!

My Little "Picasso"

Halloween Fiesta

LJ had a great time yesterday at his Halloween Party. All the children were adorable as they paraded down the hallway on the way to the gym where they sang several cute Halloween songs. (LJ has been practicing them at home!) Tomorrow we have a fun trick or treat day planned with friends and my little superheroes cannot wait. Hope everyone has a SPOOKtacular Halloween.

"ONE" incredible evening...

Last Wednesday night Ryan and I had the opportunity to see the U2 360 Tour at Reliant Stadium in Houston. It was an awesome show and so much fun. If you have not already seen them I HIGHLY recommend getting tickets. They put on a fabulous concert.

Ryan was a little disappointed not to be on the floor this year however, he thoroughly enjoyed the concert nevertheless!

A Sunday Afternoon

I went to put Jonah down for a nap after church last Sunday and came out to the livingroom to find this....I guess a couple of other boys needed a nap too!

My Little Super Heroes

Last weekend we had some great weather and decided to take the boys to a local pumpkin patch for some pictures. Lucas wants to be Batman this year for Halloween and so I decided it would be fun (and cute) if Jonah was "Baby Superman."

Watch out...here comes "Baby Superman"

This pumpkin patch is fun!

Jonah's Baptism

Jonah did great for his baptism. I think he was still half asleep from his morning nap. It was a wonderful ceremony and a special thank you to all our Houston "family" for being part of the special event.

Happy Birthday LJ

My little boy...now big boy just turned 4 years old. The weather held out for us as we had several friends over for a water extravaganza. (Thank you Grandpa for talking to God about the weather!) Lucas had a wonderful time hanging out with friends, eating birthday popsicles and swinging at a pinata. According to Lucas this was #3 in his birthday celebrations. First we celebrated with Tia Deb a couple of weeks ago, then at school, and finally at the end of the month we will celebrate again when Grandma/Grandpa and Abuela y Abuela come to visit. What a month!! Happy Birthday sweet boy!

My Little Bowler

I took Lucas bowling for the first time a few weeks ago, one, to try it out, and two, as something to do inside to get out of this incredibly hot Houston summer. He really enjoyed getting on the "special" bowling shoes and using the "special" bowling ball. He acutally did quite well considering it was his first time and even a child's bowling ball is pretty heavy. Of course they did put up the bumpers for him, so every shot was a success! He bowled two rounds and then he was ready for something else.

On Monday when I went with Jonah to the doctor's office my sister, who happened to be in town passing through, took Lucas bowling for the morning. They had a great time she said and was able to get a few fun pictures. Enjoy!

Nine Months...Little Jonah

Jonah went in for his nine month check up on Monday and here are his latest stats:
Height: 29" which consistently puts him in the 75% (I better start a clothing, shoes, and grocery savings account now.)
Weight: 20.8 lbs
Head Circumference: 18.5" (80%...doctor said it is genetic... I guess we have to track down who in the family has a big head.)
He is very close to crawling and once that starts it is "a whole new ball game" for all of us, especially Lucas! He continues to be a very happy baby and a joy to be around.

Vacation Bible School

Last week Lucas (and Jonah indirectly) participated in our annual Vacation Bible School. Our church (Christ the King Presbyterian) holds this "camp" every summer for children ages 4 and up. This year Lucas was able to participate in the full program for the first time. The theme was Swamp Stomp so everything was crocodile and swamp themed. Lucas had a wonderful time and it was so much fun to seeing him singing the songs, doing the hand motions, making crafts, and generally walking around with all the other children. It made me realize I have a "big boy."

Every morning they would all meet as a class "Crawfish" (Lucas' class) and sing and listen to a bible story acted out with puppets. They would then rotate to four different "stations": Snack (a very important one!), Missions, Crafts, Games, and Drama. At the end of the time all the classes would gather together again and sing and revisit the bible story of the day. I was very proud of Lucas he received all his "Bible Buddies" which meant that he recited part of this bible verse every day, "As for God his way is perfect the word of the Lord is flawless, he is a shield for all who take refugee in him. For who is our God except the Lord and who is our Rock except our God. It is he who arms me with strength and makes my way perfect." Psalm 18:30-32. It is particularly heart warming to see him continue to sing the VBS songs and do the hand motions in the car (we have the CD in the car and have been listening to it non-stop!) He even asked today, so when is VBS again? I don't think he quite understood why he had to wait a whole year for VBS again.

Did I mention that I am going to help coordinate VBS next year?? Be careful, I may just be knocking on your door to help....

(Check out my friends Hilary's blog for some more pics of VBS)
