Happy Halloween

Lucas had a wonderful Halloween as "Anthony Kim" the professional golfer. Thursday afternoon they had a parade and party at school which of course was super cute. Lucas, of course, was decked out in his golf outfit: checkered pants, white collared shirt, golf bag, clubs, hat, glove, and score card. Once again when asked earlier that day who he wanted to be, Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Anthony Kim... he very emphatically replied, "Anthony Kim."

We practiced on Friday going from house to house, ringing the doorbell and once the door opened saying "Trick or Treat." He thought that was great fun and wanted to do it again and again. He carved pumpkins and colored them. (Mama, "carved" the pumpkin and Lucas helped take out all the seeds inside!) He also was very curious yesterday about the "fantasmas" (ghosts). He continually asked me yesterday about seeing the "fantasmas." I am not sure where he saw them or why he became so interested in them. Perhaps, because his little trick or treat bag I purchased had some on them. I told him that "fantasmas" sleep during the day and will be out at night once it gets dark...however, he would see fun "fantasmas" that like to play, laugh and trick or treat. (We have started to talk a lot about monsters lately so I did not want him to be scared or afraid of ghosts.)

Needless to say, when last night arrived Lucas was ready and had a wonderful time going "trick or treat" with Hayden (his neighborhood buddy). Ryan and Hayden's dad (Woody) ended up taking the two boys to trick or treat and Ryan said that Lucas did very well. (We had gone around last year with Isabella but only to a few houses.) He walked very carefully from house to house because he was carrying his golf clubs, said "Trick or Treat," picked out the candy very carefully, and then said "Thank you." From there we went went to a neighborhood Halloween Party and Lucas ran around and played with several other children from the neighborhood. When it was time to go he kept repeating, "I don't want to go." Fortunately, between the candy and the running around he crashed last night for bed without a peep!
Ryan told Lucas, "Next year when you are a golfer I will be your caddy." Maybe next year we could try a new costume? We will see... my little obsessed three year old golfer!!
